After a successful event last year, the third annual edition of international kenkey Festival is all set to amaze fans at Mantse Agbona, James Town On March 3, 2018.

The event which brings the largest gathering of Kenkey lovers to the Kenkey Headquarters of Ghana is a program that draws people from all corners of the world to one of the kenkey industries Jamestown. Kenkey Festival and welcomes different class of people including dignitaries, entertainers and tourists.

Nominated as the Most Promising Event of the Year at the Ghana Event Awards, The Kenkey Festival will be taking a new twist and dimension as it partners with the National Commission on Culture this year.

This year’s edition which is known as the trinity edition will have patrons enjoying music from top and upcoming acts. Comedy lovers won’t be left out as well as poetry lovers.

Speaking in an interview with the festival’s organiser, Mr Manuel Nii Martey Mensah, he said that there would be wide variety of Ga, Fante, Northern and Volta brands of kenkey on display and for sale at the event.

“The festival’s aim is to promote one of Ghana’s most common local foods to the international market. “We want to help encourage the patronage of Ghanaian foods, which will in turn help in the advancement of agriculture and general food production in the country,” Mr Mensah told Attractivemustapha.com.

The day would see the crowning of a Kenkey King and Queen, serving of free ‘mashke’ (mashed kenkey) and performances by musicians, spoken word artistes and poets to keep patrons entertained during the festival.
