10 people you must watch in life as we move into 2018-Rev F. D-Yalley

TEN PEOPLE YOU MUST WATCH IN LIFE
People are a gift from God. For some, they are just a man away from their breakthrough in life. Whatever you want to achieve or accomplish in life, you’ll need man. Money is important but man is an indispensable asset you ought to cherish. I fear people who love money more than man. In fact, even God needs man to fulfil every mission he sets out. I can allude to countless Biblical instances where God had to use man and in some cases “little ones” to save an entire nation or generation. Having laid this foundation, one may ask, then why do you admonish readers in this piece to be watchful about Ten people? Well, much as people are integral for fulfilling destiny, some you may have to be very cautious of if you ever want to pursue and fulfil the dreams and visions you carry. It is most unfortunate that in recent times, we’ve had people who claim to be motivational writers/speakers warning people about certain persons in life and some upon grasping it have ended up fighting their deliverers, Messiahs and destiny changers. That is not what this piece seeks to do but to give you a deep revelation about people you must be watchful of but for the purpose of this article, I’ll outline five of such persons and encourage your anticipation of the remaining five in the next episode of this piece.

1 THOSE WHO WILL PREVENT YOU FROM BEING MATURE
( 1 Sam 17:33)
“And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him :for thou art but a youth and he a man of war from his youth ”

In life and on the journey to fulfilling destiny, you’ll encounter people who will undermine your ability and competence to take a position, assignment and an office. Some companies in their interview session for job applicants look at certain criteria that often lead to the misjudgement of your experience, exposure and composure. Unknown to Saul, in the verse 34, David had a Master’s degree in Bearlogy and Lionlogy. He had a Bachelor’s degree in stewardship but just because he didn’t look it , Saul almost aborted David’s dream of becoming the deliverer of Israel from the giant Philistine. Hear this, some of us our physicals betray the quality of our CV – I mean you don’t look the dream neither do you look the CV for same. You’ll encounter people who will not give you the chance to take the challenge that seemingly looks bigger than you but if it’s your assignment, defy them and insist on your pursuit of it. God assesses the heart to give an assignment not the hands.

2. PEOPLE WHO HAVE LOST IT BUT WILL NOT WANT YOU TO HAVE IT.
(1 Sam 16:1-2 , 1 Sam 18:7-9)
“And the Lord said unto Samuel, how long will thou mourn for Saul, seeing that I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill thine horn with oil and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlemite for I have provided me a king among his sons. And Samuel said, how can I go? If Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the lord said, take an heifer with thee and say , I am come to sacrifice to the Lord ”

I always say the car you want to drive, the house you want to live in, somebody has. People often forget that this life is about seasons and times. Every generation has its own crop of people God releases to be used for his purpose. We have presidents, chiefs, business owners etc who have lost it but won’t allow you to have it. It was clear that God had chosen his elect for the nation Israel. Saul had lost the throne but wouldn’t want to step down for David. Is this not typical of some nation leaders in our current dispensation? They lose an election but wouldn’t want others have the seat. In the chapter 18:7-9 where the election results were declared, Saul still didn’t want to give in.
“And the women answered one another as they played and said, Saul hath slain his thousands and David his ten thousands. And Saul was very wroth and the saying displeased him and he said, they have ascribed unto David ten thousands and to me they have ascribed but thousands, and what can he have more but the kingdom? And Saul eyed David from that day forward”.
There are people who once ruled the affairs of your family. God is raising you to take over. Be watchful of them as they may not want you to have it.

3. THOSE WHO WILL GIVE YOU WHAT IS NOT YOURS IN ORDER FOR YOU NOT TO GO FOR WHAT IS YOURS
(1 Sam 17:38-40)

” And Saul armed David with his armour and he put an helmet of brass upon his head;also he armed him with a coat of mail it. ”
Some of you, the reason why you have refused to go buy your own car as you had earlier planned for,is because of the lift that friend gives you. May I submit to you, that car isn’t yours. Go for yours! There are people who will lend to you the mediocrity of life so that you don’t aspire to greatness. What you are pursuing, reminds them of their failure.
Take this to heart and mind; never go to the battlefield with borrowed weaponry. That which you have not tested yourself with, don’t try it on the enemy. David told Saul after he gave him his armoury, ” And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him ”
Watch out for these people.

4. THOSE WHO PREVENT YOU FROM ENCOUNTERING THE PEOPLE WHO WILL GIVE YOU WHAT IS YOURS.
(1 Sam 17:26-32)

In these verses, they capture David as he left the sheep with a keeper in order to go enquire of the people what was at stake for who will be able to kill Goliath. This enquiry was very important because it was the people David enquired this information from who recommended him to Saul or who led him to encountering Saul. David’s brother upon seeing David had this to say in verse 28,
“And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto men and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David and he said, why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride and the naughtiness of thine heart : for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle ”
Interestingly, people who may prevent you from encountering the people who will give you what is yours may be your own family or close friends. Just like Eliab questioned whom David had left the sheep for, your elder sister who doesn’t seek that you find a man before she does, will ask you to go back to the kitchen to do the chores and cleaning instead of going out with the rest of the family. That whom you must encounter to introduce you to a business that will turn your life around, somebody close to you is ready to prevent that.
Be on the look out for such persons.

5.THOSE WHO WILL SET TASKS THAT ARE TOO MUCH FOR YOU TO HANDLE WITH THE INTENTION OF BREAKING YOU DOWN.
(1 Sam 18:25)
“And Saul said, Thus shall say ye to David, the King desireth not any dowry but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines to be avenged of the King’s enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines. ”

It may appear as though your boss, your leader or your head loves you and for that matter assigns great tasks to you. But be watchful of those who overload you with life -threatening tasks because the purpose of the task is not to build you nor stretch your capacity but rather to execute or eliminate you. They know you are an heir to the throne. They know you are riped for the higher office. And oh they know as long as you exist or remain a hardworking staff, you’ll soon be promoted. So they break you down before your time is due. What a silent and holy assassination!

Beware of these people because a man on a mission to fulfil destiny will most definitely encounter if not these five, all the Ten. So don’t miss the remaining five in the next episode.
